Long time no speak.

I dare say most folk around here have no clue who I am. Lucky them. However, there are bound to be a few who remember the caress of my boot.

Anyway. I'm here to let you know that I have taken over as co-organiser of the Welsh Blood Bowl Championship. Was hoping there might still be folk here who play real BB and might be interested.

Orktober held in Holmfirth in the UK.

Was a fun day out, I am glad that I went.

This cynanide game has made me lazy, having to play properly I was a nightmare at forgetting things like loner and disturbing presence that the game just gives you.

I considered this roster first:

as i usually play skaven but then I decided to take advantage of the fact its a resurrection format to use underworld denizens.   (also let me take a secondary skill which meant I could put block on the rat ogre)

speaking to people at the event, there is a current 'star player' meta and the current over powered underworld build includes Hakflem.    (I don't currently have that miniature anyway).

was first tournament for both of us, very friendly game but we were going too slow and kept getting hurried along by the ref.  final score was 2-2  with about 9 of my team in the cas box.

This chap was experienced tournament and plays lots of fmmbl so game went fast.  his team was built around griff.  griff pick up ball, cage round griff and move down to score.  I think i was lucky to get the draw.  he planned for a standard 2-1.  he let me receive, i scored quickly, he slowly pushed down pitch planning to score on t8.  (he chose not to take easy score on t7).  i managed to knock over his ball carrier on my t8 then spam a load of snotlings and goblins around the ball which meant it was 1-0 at half time.  second half he just received then took the full 8 to score.   (griff holding the ball in a strong cage the whole half).  

game3, opponent nurgle, win!

opponent gave me receive so I scored quickly then he started his slow drive down.  around t6 he left a gap where my horns blitzer managed to knock down his carrier and then by some miracle I got the ball out of a crowd of players with a hero snotling then legged it down the pitch with a goblin and managed to score again.

Second half he just took the full 8 to score once (I was very low on players by the end).  turns out this chap has a following on instagram:

Was a nice day out, was good to use my miniatures, the resurrection format was a nice change from weekly league game.

The venue was fantastic.

The new rat ogre rules with animal savagery make him a much more useful piece.  (especially with block).

if anyone is thinking of trying a tabletop tournament, I recommend it.

Looks like you can't chuck stunties at the opposing ball carriers very effectively now...

Looks like the "new GW" version of the game has gone back to... 2nd edition? Mighty blow with levels? Pass and Agility split? Zombies not allowed to even try to pass the ball? And a new team of human players ("imperial") ?

Blitz! is a lot more limited and no longer possible to get players killed by a Throw a Rock event. The change to the injury table seems to make it less likely to get dead results and nigglings are less career ending...

Is there any chance we will get them in Blood Bowl 3 (if we ever get Blood Bowl 3 ?)

I wonder what stats they will have.

For sure I see here "normal' snotlings as main players, there is some git on stilts, one with bomb or something (he is throwing this, standing on the left). One riding something (is it ball or squig?) and of course Pump Wagon. I am not sure what it will do but I need one.

Anyway, this is quite upside down. Still undecided whether the Gutter Runner move is crazy good or ridiculously good

6 rounds, 40 players max 

1100, 6 skills no doubles, need to have 11 players before buying a star, max 1 skill per player. Bonus points for td differential (up to 5) or casualty differential (up to 5), no negative bonus points awarded 

Really not favorable to Nurgle. So obvious thoughts are 4 bloaters with block. At least 2 rerolls.  Thinking of going Bulla over the beast so I at least have someone useful every turn (if nothing else a safe stab).

Lands me at 12 players, bulla  (star with block, fa, 2 heads, extra arms, and stab), 4 boaters with block, and 7 rotters.

So 2 skills to put on rotters, no doubles so mutations or general.  Standouts look like block, wrestle or extra arms (for some emergency ball tactics, as I won't have many rerolls).  Or double down on foul appearance or disturbing presence.  

What to put in those 2 players has me really baffled.  There's pros and cons to any of them, but any thought's are welcome

I mean, I know I'd like an extension but that doesn't mean the league does.

Coaches have two weeks to organise their league match and can play up to two friendlies in that period against other teams from either division. The idea being to provide flexibility for some who may struggle to play frequently, while letting others play more games if they want to. The friendlies are the same as regular games except that they give half winnings and no MVP. While they should boost team development, they can of course lead to player death and injury also.

Just wanted to see if anyone out there running or participating in a table top league has tried some of the newer rules and appreciate any advice based on your experience.

Team cost is 1,100k and will most likely take Humans, because Tier 2 teams get 6 regular skills and a double, while Tier 1 teams only get 5 regular skills.

At the restaurant You'll be able to choose from several types of food including fastfood like burgers or sandwiches to more complex like dinner (shnitzel with potatoes and salad) from 6 to 20 zł (1,5-5EUR)
There will be also option to drink some beer (5zł/1,5EUR+). restaurant dont provide high percentage alcohols but you can bring them with You and it will be fine for them.

TIER LIST

In order to reduce the unbalancing between the different races the World Cup will be divide the races into 4 tiers:
Tier 1: Amazons, Bretonnians, Chaos Dwarves, Dark Elves, Dwarves, Lizardmen, Norse, Orcs, Skaven, Undead, Wood Elves
Tier 2: Chaos Renegades, Elf Union, High Elves, Humans, Khemri, Necromantic, Simians
Tier 3: Daemons of Khorne, Chaos, Nurgle’s Rotters, Slann, Underworld Denizens, Vampires
Tier 4: Goblins, Halflings, Ogres

Teams at the Winter Cup will be built and will gain improvements (additional skills or stat upgrades) according to their placement in the tier system above. The composition of all teams and all improvements to be taken must be submitted before the tournament.

TEAM CREATION

Coaches must spend a minimum of 1,100,000 gold pieces when building their team. When building your team, you may buy:

At least 11 standard roster players before any star player
0-8 Re-Rolls, Assistant coaches, Cheerleaders
0-1 Apothecary or Igor, depending on race
0-9 Fan Factor
Inducements. The cost will be as following and will count for all 9 games:
0-2 Bloodweiser Kegs for each 50,000 gp
0-3 Bribes for each 100,000 gp, for Goblins only for each 50,000 gp
0-1 Masterchef for 300,000 gp, for Halflings only 100,000 gp
0-2 NAF-approved star players for their regular cost
Wizards, (in)famous coaching staff and/or Special Play Cards are explicitly not allowed at the World Cup

ADDITIONAL CASH:
Each team receives additional funding based on their tier. Starting cash can be used for team building (as above) or used to buy skills or a mixture of both. Cash for games 2 and 3 as well as for games 4 and 5 can only be spent on skills in advance of those games.

A ‘normal’ skill costs 20 kgp
A ‘double’ skill costs 30 kgp
Tiers 1-3 are limited to one double skill during the tournament
Tier 4 may have more than one double skill
Your roster can have one player that has two additional skills. Both skills must be normal skills and the second skill has a cost of 30,000 gold pieces. These skills can be added at different times in the event.
Tier 4 may buy a single stat upgrade. This cannot be combined with any other additional skill.
+ MA / AV costs 40,000 gold pieces,
+ AG 50,000 gold pieces and
+ ST 60,000 gold pieces.
Star players may not receive additional skills or stat upgrades
All gold left unspent each day is lost, and does not carry over to subsequent days. If you choose to not spend all of your gold, the organizing committee thanks you for your contribution to our bar tab!

Loss by one touchdown: 1 point
Loss by more than one touchdown: 0 point
Concede: -5 points

If your match is behind schedule a referee may ask you to hurry up in order to finish in time. If you are unable to finish the referee may stop the game prematurely. In all cases a referee’s decision is final.

At the end of tournament if we have draw in big points then:

- direct game between players
- sort by sum of opponents' points
- then by TD net score (TD scored - TD against)
- then by Cas net score (Cas inflicted - Cas received)
- who win fight in pool filled with snow.

Best scorer (player with the highest number of touchdowns) - special prize
Biggest bastard (player with the highest number of scored injuries on his opponents) - special prize
MVP (The player with the most fair play votes cast by opponents) - special prize

Special prize for best painted blood bowl team.

Each participant will receive a starter pack and a memorial of participation in the tournament.
