    Darktide

Uuuuuh, exciting. I mean, Deathwing is suprisingly good FPS Space Hulk, but this looks like shooty action where you don't wear terminator armour...and isn't made by Cyanide.
  2. Sneaky git can foul alone while the rest of the team wins the game.
  3. Rumours tell that I am to be the master of coin at some point soon. No promises, but OCC Casino might be opening up again. And the beautiful part about gambling is that you do not need to cheat, house always wins.
  4. So, I gave this thing a pause for last season. Other than being somewhat busy, I didn't really like any of my attempts to work with the theme. But now I am in championship division and that requires some radical action, and what is more radical than world revolution? Let's try posters this time. And always remember our motto: Aim to aid the downtrodden, come comrade to Circus Modern! *Apply for membership in any of Vanguard Party's offices. One in every major city in Kislev (main office in Praag). Look for a circus tent. Only fit of body and quick of mind need to apply; revolutionary spirit optional but highly encouraged, will be given by agitprop if lacking.
  5. You have plenty of new blood to hire, too.
  6. I think it is that time of the year again when theme song for reds needs to be posted.
  7. Sound effects are quite minimal, but there is background music that gets a bit overt at times. Not enough to disturb me, but I guess it might annoy someone. Most of the scene setting is however done by the narrator who is, I understand, Neil Gaiman himself reading somewhat modified comic book scripts. So I'd guess you'd like it, but I can't be sure.
  8. The question is: did you get a fast development on your blitzers? They are your team's true core that makes or breaks it, catchers are easy enough to train to be an afterthought. How good are your blitzers? You lucky bugger. Tell me your address and I come and whip you with a string made of dice! May Nuffle turn his other buttcheek on you next season. May your apo turn out to be a serial killer. May elves grow claws when they face you. May every rotter have diving tackle when you run past them... or perhaps you may do well next season. Luck to you.
  9. Speaking of audio books. Audible released Neil Gaiman's Sandman as audio book, but it is more like radio play. I've listened first three stories so far while reading the comics and it works really well. I also noticed that Audible has A Place of Greater Safety, a great historical fiction book about French Revolution, focusing on Robespierre and Danton. I read it years ago and have thought about rereading it. Might as well listen it.
  10. You know, there is this one time someone got Sinatra to do concept album.
  11. I would be more surprised if anyone got that without any further context.
  12. You didn't imply either, but it is a fact...or a quote from Ruddigore where I replaced "baronet" with "civil engineer" and "bad" with "dumb".
  13. All civil engineers are dumb? Are you dumber than other civil engineers?
  14. I can survive the attrition from 1 or 2 kill teams, I guess, so any that fails to, you know, kill me, is a win.
  15. We used BB2LeagueManager until it was shut down during last season, and we're getting our own solution at some point, I hear. For this season GoblinSpy was used. Navigate to your division there and click "toplists" for variety of statistics. You could also check them from the game itself, but Cyanide's spaghetti code makes it far less reliable. At least the casualties inflicted (the thing that earned your punch awards) seemed bugged, probably by deducting each apo use even if that apo gave another casualty as a result. And my congratulations for being a dirty killer. I hope your arms are too tired to kill me next season
  16. But that's the plan! My PO lures in the opposing team to kick it and this leaves holes in the defence for the rest of my team to exploit!
  17. You only started giving tips during my last game...the one that I lost. Welcome to the team

  19. I don't want to discourage you, but fair warning is in order: the AI is, to put it nicely as possible, totally atrocious and if they put any effort in it, it was effort to make it bad. Be prepared to have your ass handed to you by more skilled coaches for some time.
  20. I just stop here to say my congratulations to the champ and announce that age of Kislev is about to begin. I hope you're going to enjoy it.
  21. Your team doesn't need to be ready in game by the signup deadline. Your team doesn't have to be ready in game before the 24th. All the important dates can be found here.
  22. Multiplayer helps to keep you focused. This is why I am real bitter about Pathfinder not having any.
  23. You're not only one who has had this same problem this MD on T5, @Igralius, we (admins of T5) have also been contacted by @Doomy77 because his opponent has been on the forums several times without posting on the MD thread. First off, I appreciate the fact that coaches make these matters known. It is admins' job to make their tier run smoothly, but we are people too* and these things might go unnoticed if the match still gets played in time. This is especially true after a such a smooth sailing season as this. Anyway, today is Friday and it is the most ideal day to check these things. There are still 2 weekend days and 2 work days to schedule the match to and coaches have had a full working week to do that scheduling. Contacting any coaches who have not made attempts to schedule until now is neither too pushy nor does it come too late unless the other coach had very restricted availability for the MD. In my limited experience, most people do get found and should respond to the MD thread by Saturday at the latest. Now, getting the match scheduled so late as Saturday can obviously be annoying, problematic or even impossible. This is where the warnings, admin decided matches and other admin tools come in. Generally speaking, multiple late schedulings earns one a warning, unplayed match because of a bad scheduling earns one a warning and unplayed matches end up as admin wins for the side that tried to schedule earlier and/or more actively. Long as you offered some viable kickoff times early enough, there is no reason to stress about what your opponent does or doesn't do, unless you're really looking forward to that match. If one signs up to play a weekly match of BB in a league and uses Discord, one should expect to get pinged from time to time even when posting their availability on forums the minute MD thread comes up. Some people just prefer using Discord. This proverbial one should also be prepared to get some emails, as forum PMs send an email notification to the registration address. Both of these things (Discord ping spam and email spam) can be harassment, but only when done in a harassing manner. *At least I am. I can't really speak for the rest of the admin team as I don't know them personally. Also, at least one of us is a banana, another is a broccoli, so there's that.
  24. I have a list of recommended mods that is miles long, but Sword Coast Stratagems is the bare minimum. It makes AI much, much better without making it cheat and makes combat more challenging and tactical. Difficulty levels still work so it is not neccessarily hard.
