Pidpad Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 The manual for the new OCC Uploader can be found here. (that will be the central place from now on where we keep the manual and announce changes to the uploader) You can use this thread to discuss the uploader and post questions about it. 2 Awards 4 3 3 2 4 2 2
Doomy77 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 It was coded by Zephire, with frequent whipping by Borke, who also wrote the documentation above. Awards 4
AndyDavo Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Hi,Fantastic work guys. Just thought i would throw my 2 cents out there.Having used a very similar tool for UKBBL for a while can i suggest that ;- Replay File(the save game)- Match Report(the .sqlite file)- Log File(s)(the log files starting with 000)All just have one line of text after them showing what type of fine you are looking for. Now i KNOW that the match report file is an .SQLITE file - why, because i've uploaded over a hundred, newcomers might put the wrong file in the wrong hole.Next - this is more for the admins, but make everyone post confirming they are registered BEFORE MD1 can start - because if you close the client after a game then still need to upload, re watching the replay is a right pain. And effort, most people don't like extra effort.Better yet would be to pull the existing database of player accounts and put them into this new bit of the site - is this doable? Finally - put the uploader as one of the tabs along the top. Totally not missable then. This is unbelievably great work. Thank you so much! Awards 6 2 14 4 3 3 2 4
Borke Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Thanks for the comments, Andy, a few quick replies. Having used a very similar tool for UKBBL for a while can i suggest that ;- Replay File(the save game)- Match Report(the .sqlite file)- Log File(s)(the log files starting with 000)All just have one line of text after them showing what type of fine you are looking for. Now i KNOW that the match report file is an .SQLITE file - why, because i've uploaded over a hundred, newcomers might put the wrong file in the wrong hole. We'll review whether we can reword it slightly. However, the uploader checks whether you put in the wrong types on its own, it should be impossible to upload wrong types (and you should get instant feedback). Next - this is more for the admins, but make everyone post confirming they are registered BEFORE MD1 can start - because if you close the client after a game then still need to upload, re watching the replay is a right pain. And effort, most people don't like extra effort. I think this is a good idea. The timing is tight, but I think the extra effort before the season starts might well be worth it. Better yet would be to pull the existing database of player accounts and put them into this new bit of the site - is this doable? Due to the nature of the accounts on the new OCC Uploader, this is unfortunately not possible. Finally - put the uploader as one of the tabs along the top. Totally not missable then. This is on the to-do schedule, ultimately, but we have more urgent tasks before that, don't expect it during this season. 2 Awards 3 3
meebee Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 probably one could write a batch file to copy these.. of course, each coach would have to enter details about the games location and version+target location/name for the data storage (only once) i might give it a try, if i find the patience to do so but would prefer if some less rusty one could give it a try shouldn't be too complicated.. check target location last folder number make folder at target location (last folder number+1) change directory -> compare timestamp, copy file1(with highest time stamp) to target location cd -> copy file 2+3 Awards
PaloLV Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Can you watch games played by other people if they've uploaded their games? If so, how?
Borke Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Can you watch games played by other people if they've uploaded their games? If so, how? There are two alternatives of "watch" implied here: - Is it possible to see the results (and statistics) of matches played by other coaches? Answer: As of this very moment, not yet. However, we hope to have this implemented very soon, maybe even tonight. - Is it possible to download "replay files", so that you can load them in the Cyanide client and re-watch them? Not yet, but this feature is planned. Can't give you a time line yet, but shouldn't be long (I'd say definitely early in the season). Awards 3 3

Borke Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Nice job, Zeph and Borke! I have a question: Do both coaches upload, or just one? Thanks RK :) For the time being, only one coach should upload. If there is a change to this, we'll inform everyone. Awards 3 3
A-r-c-h-o-n Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Why not make it a ClickOnce Application or a Windows Service, that searches the registry for the file-location, and uploads any matches it finds? Need help with that?
Borke Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Why not make it a ClickOnce Application or a Windows Service, that searches the registry for the file-location, and uploads any matches it finds? Need help with that? We did try that first, and the finding files and stuff wasn't a problem, but we kept running into weird problems with the upload, so settled for this solution for the time being. Moncap Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Great work Zeph and Borke. Just out of interest, how long ago did you start working on it?
Borke Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Great work Zeph and Borke. Just out of interest, how long ago did you start working on it? This current version (the second go we are having at making an uploader) we started about two months ago. Awards 3 3
Zephire Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 I'll leave all communications (or as much as possible) to Borke He's doing a great job in filtering out and that's saving me some time to actually keep working on it However, maybe one thing to add, in the slightly longer term the site that now functions purely for the uploader will be introducing other features as well. In time taking over even what we currently use for boards too. So the new registration will become (eventually) your sole account for Orca Cola. Hope this helps in placing why we ask you to register again at this point Cheers and over to Borke again.
AndyDavo Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Just found that when you have more than one BBchaos 000 file, getting it to select all of them is annoying. I worked out that you hold CTRL, but that was via me trying stuff not having been told (i think some people will need telling). UKBBL get round this by having three windows to upload these files into, one for each BBchaos. Also, wasn't aware that only one chaos uploads, my game will have two i suspect, since it was a draw. Some clear communication out to the divisions might be needed? Awards 6 2 14 4 3 3 2 4
Javelin Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 How to upload files The OCC Uploader can be found at http://orcacola.fiery-gnome.com/. These are the steps you need to take to upload a match: Log in (if you are not already logged in) Go to the menu „Uploads -> Upload Match“ Select the files from your computer (best to use the archive files you created); note that for the „Log File(s)“, you need to select all of the log files at the same time, by using CTRL+Click (if your browser does not support selecting multiple files at the same time, you should see three selection boxes for „Log File(s)“ instead) Click „Upload“ Keep the browser page open until you see a „Success“ message (or alternatively, an error, of which you should immediately inform us) In some cases, before getting a „Success“, you might be asked to enter the names of the coaches involved in the match; in this case, just fill in the names (exactly as they appear in game!!) and continue the upload Ok, now you know the basics of how to use the OCC Uploader to upload your match replays, there is one final thing you need. meebee Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 This is just a basic helper file content. you need to: create a folder where you want to save your replay files (subfolders will be created during copy process according to name given by you) open a standard text editor, copy the content below, adjust the settings (red colored) and save it as replaycopy.bat to your desktop or any other place of your liking double click the bat file... (plz be reasonable with folder naming-there is no check for user input errors - i suggest naming your folder like "S31M01" (Season31Match01)) only edit " BB_Chaos*.log " if you own another version than BB-Chaos Edition and don't delete the * set gameUserFolder=C:\Users\meebee\Documents\BloodBowlChaos set saveLocation=S:\OCC_Saves @echo off if "%1"=="" goto eingabe set newfoldername=%1 goto ausgabe :eingabe set /p newfoldername=Please enter name for new folder: goto ausgabe :ausgabe echo Ausgabe zur Kontrolle: echo new folder name=%newfoldername% pause md %saveLocation%\%newfoldername% cd %gameUserFolder% copy BB_Chaos*.log %saveLocation%\%newfoldername% copy MatchReport.sqlite %saveLocation%\%newfoldername% cd saves cd replays FOR /F "delims=|" %%I IN ('DIR "*.*" /B /O:D') DO SET NewestFile=%%I copy %NewestFile% %saveLocation%\%newfoldername% tested with windows 7 ultimate 64bit Awards
Soleil Noir Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Well just uploaded my mD1 game, quite easy and user friendly tool. Gratz for having developped it. Just a sillty question : validations thread doesn't seem to be active. No need to ask validation anymore ? Awards
Doomy77 Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 There probably will be a request procedure again, once we figure out what it should be. Awards 4
Horlas Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 I've uploaded my MD1 match (in 3D,) and it seemed for a moment that it was saying that there was information missing in the files I'd submitted (specifically it listed the replay file, which I had picked.) So I don't know if there's an issue there or if I did some part wrong.
Borke Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 I've uploaded my MD1 match (in 3D,) and it seemed for a moment that it was saying that there was information missing in the files I'd submitted (specifically it listed the replay file, which I had picked.) So I don't know if there's an issue there or if I did some part wrong. The game was successfully uploaded and processed. You can always check immediately after uploading under "Uploads -> My Uploaded Matches", any match that was successfully uploaded should immediately appear there, even if it hasn't been processed yet. As soon as it's processed, if everything went well, the match should also appear on the front page of the OCC Uploader as a "recently played OCC match" - which your match does! Awards 3 3
