whats the general plan for moving into BB3? will it be a few seasons before the league migrates or from day 1(ish). 

 

Im assuming lessons were learnt from BB1>BB2 so we should have an educated idea already?

We need to have a look at what the game allows us to do before we know.

Redrafting is a rather big change and could have impact on league structure.

 

A guesstimate would be a few seasons after release to work out things.

We can't assume the move to BB3 will be the same as the move to BB2, but I would wager that we won't take as long as we were quite late to start in BB2. But until BB3 is actually released we won't have the relevant information: redrafting and how it works in-game being high on the list, but also what the league admin tools are like, game and server stability, etc.

 

All we can say for sure is we won't rush into it, so expect OCC BB2 to run for several seasons yet.

Yeah, "early 2021" isn't likely to mean January or even February in my experience. We'll see four more seasons of BB2 OCC at the very least, and I'd bet good money on the release being delayed until Q2 or more, and I could see the OCC taking 2-3 months to set up on top of that. That means we can assume we'll have at least six more seasons. Also, even if the BB2 crowd shrinks we'll likely keep the league running for a while alongside the BB3 league like we did with BB1. (Disclaimer: this is all speculation.)

 

But yeah, all we can do is speculate. There isn't even a release date yet, and the gaming industry isn't exactly famed for being on time.

Well, now we have a relase (very soon). What are the plans (if there are any) for moving to BB3?

i have no faith so i will wait until the game is actually released until i say something about migration.

Still no idea what admin/league tools we have to work with. I really need to see that before I can set up a league structure. (yes, I already have a bunch of drafts that assume we can do things in about the same way as now).

 

It feels somewhat weak to move from 20+ teams to 9? For BB2 we waited a bit until about 13-14 or so were released.

If BB3 is amazing I doubt it'll take as long though.

 

There will be a BB3 league (of some sort) run by OCC, that's about all I can say at the moment.

 

We'll probably run a BB2 league as long as there's interest as well, but it will need admins. I am not going to sort seeding for two leagues, so once the BB3 league is up and running someone else will have to deal with seeding for BB2.

they will have 12 teams at release in bb3 + 1 more when the 1st Cyanide season begin so plenty of teams but hope the game state will be good quick
