We honestly dont know. The previous time given for warhammer blood bowl would have been during bb3 s9 and as that would break all teams we are waiting for warhammer blood bowl. We've not heard anything that changes that as of now.

That's a long time to wait, can OCC run a tournament in the meantime? One last huzzah for existing teams?

Until we get a firm release date for warhammer blood bowl its hard to plan anything. Not very keen on starting something that we dont know that we can finish.

with delays is possible that we will wait for mounths....

That is what I've heard, so without a release date (which initially was rumored to be mid march, which now seems rather unlikely) it's really difficult to plan anything.

 

We'd probably need 3 weeks of downtime regardless (as there's no decision threads) so then we're in early April before we'd start anything, and without knowing when warhammer blood bowl gets released we don't know how many weeks we would have at our disposal.

If we go by how long the current blood pass season is, that's 40 days. That'd leave us time for 3 games. That's not enough to do much.

Does a company’s financial uncertainty affect the development of updates? If the company goes bankrupt or isn’t acquired, what happens to the servers? Am I realistically worrying too much?

All of this is beyond me, but I'd assume that bankruptcy would mean no servers (once the paid time runs out). Games Workshop might do something though, as it would reflect somewhat badly on them to let the servers die. That's me speculating though,

I agree. But on the other hand, the more time passes without a league, the more interest in the game declines… so it’s hard to be wise about it.

I am currently counting on an announcement coming at the end of the current season (the one ingame). I base this on that the season is ending very soon, so they need to say something.

Something that supports this is that in the Blood Bowl 3 Discord server a person affiliated with Cyanide said the following:
"Hello, we’re still working on WBB and unfortunately don’t have any information to share about the demo or the release yet. We’re sorry about that, but we do have plans for after the end of this season"

As expected there was an announcement: 

 

The Overtime Season is coming! Coaches, Season 11 is ending, but we're keeping the action going with "The Overtime Season" starting tomorrow for the next 3 months! Maintenance Schedule: Tomorrow, 21 April 2026 09:00 – 21 April 2026 16:00 (We aim to finish earlier ).

 

Season Highlights:

 

New Blood Pass: 25 levels featuring the exclusive Snowy Pitch, new balls, dice, and 10 Legendary player customizations. (Note: XP per level is adjusted for this 25-level format).

Open Ladder: A more flexible matchmaking experience with no TV limits.

Arena Update: High stakes! We're moving to a one-loss elimination format.

 

 

So that gives us 3 months. We'll do something, but we don't know what yet. A full season is unlikely, but we'll do something.
