  1. Then the gangfouling begins in earnest, much to my protests.  All my prone pieces are already marked with 2 players each, and since they only have Ag 1, i can't even think of dodging away and risking another armor roll.

I have no actions which i can take, other than to sit and watch the carnage, or quit.

   Mate, that happens to me every other game.  Sometimes I'll be in the rare position to be the one doing it to my opponent!

You takes your licks, and live to fight another day.  The absolute worst they can do is take out one player per turn, so the odds of getting multiple serious injuries/deaths are actually pretty low.  Or if you care about your pixels that much I guess you concede.... but I don't see the point in that.  You can always get more players!

FWIW, running the clock down in retaliation is fine by me in theory also, but my preferred approach is the opposite - click the end turn button right away and get the game done.

  2. I post all times in GMT/UTC so there can be no confusion.

Also, this site is great for both planning the available times, and making sure everyone is crystal clear about when you are playing. Just put in your two respective locations and it gives you the GMT time and local time for everyone. And it automatically includes daylight savings for every country.

The only way you can possibly screw it up is if you can't read to begin with.

  3. I've got a level-up to apply on my goblin team. 6+6 (!) on a rookie goblin, which is awesome :D . But he's also MNG, so he won't actually be playing until MD8 :Gutted: .

I'm 98% sure that I'm going to take the +St, but maybe I'll take the double instead. So I'd like to be able to wait and see what the TV-difference situation is on MD8 before making a final decision.

Sooooo, the question is; do you have to apply a level-up on an MNG player before it will let you play your next game?

  4. According to the rules it should be a turnover regardless:

The following events cause a Turnover:

    ...

    7. A player with the ball is thrown or is attempted to be thrown using Throw Team-Mate and fails to land successfully (including being eaten or squirming free from an Always Hungry roll).

You could add it to the bug list (for all the good that will do).

  5. I reckon you want the Wizard. And probably 2 extra players. But you can't afford both stars, so I'd go for Eldril over Jordell because your catcher can already do a lot of what Jordell brings.

So Eldril + Wizard is 350, leaving ~200 to spend on a merc Wardancer with a skill (or drop the skill and get a Babe).

  6. As the person responsible for your predicament, I feel obligated to help get you out ;)

What's the TV difference? Some combination of Star Players and mercs is going to be your best bet. I'm thinking maybe Morg if you've got lots to spend, but more likely Eldril + Jordell +Wizard and some merc Wardancers with Tackle or Strip Ball.

  7. I'm actually relatively happy with the Goblin selection. Ripper is the key to making goblins somewhat dependable, and you even get enough Inducements to get Ripper + Morg sometimes, which really shifts the game balance.

That said, having the other secret weapons would add a lot more flexibility, especially against the finesse and hybrid teams. And Scrappa and Dribblesnot are certainly the worst of the four non-Big-Guy options.

  8. It's not really a question of malice.

That's just what you have to do to achieve the desired result. And that was certainly what he was trying to achieve, cause otherwise he would have just picked up the ball and scored. There's little chance that it just accidentally happened.

But as I said, I'm not claiming foul play here - the client allows it, and there's no rule against it, so I would have done the same.

That said, it's clearly a breach of the BB rules as written. And it's something that can be avoided if the player chooses (or deliberately triggered if they so choose). So in that respect it's similar to the 12 man bug. Admittedly the impact isn't as big, nor is it something that comes up all that often. But I'd have thought the principle is the same?

  9. Yep. As I understand it, it was a clear violation of the TT rules.

And to manage it, my opponent would have had to key in the pick and up and move into one chain, as if he had just picked it up, and then tried to move out afterwards, then the TD would have kicked in immediately.

So it was a deliberate and conscious effort to avoid a TD, which is against the rules, but allowed by the cyanide client. I don't particularly blame my opponent for doing it, cause there isn't a rule against it. But it was just a really frustrating game already, and having a client bug screw me over as well as the dice is really rage-inducing.

  10. So just had this bug affect my MD5 game:

I had just made a rather suicidal 2d-against blitz on his ball carrier, hoping to push him over the line and force a score in T13 (giving me 3 turns to try and equalise). But miraculously I pulled a :zDD: :zDD: and knocked him down instead, leaving the ball sitting in the end-zone.

Next turn of course, he picks it up in the endzone, and runs back into play, to hang on to it until the end of the half.

So instead of 3 turns to equalise, I had 1. And of course I failed, and lost the game. :Gutted:

I don't know if we need an OCC rule or not, but I just know that it really grates that my poor pogo's bravery was for nothing. And that what should have been a stroke of luck was turned into poo thanks to Cyanide's coding.

  11. And since we are bugreporting - in the same game as I mentioned above (Eagles vs Offenders) a wizard was used to lightning bolt, but lightning bolts are not listed as d6 rolls.

They too should be in the list (and like fireballs and bombs they should be lucky to "fail")

Lightning bolt is now in the list, but it seems to have its success roll around backwards (like fireballs and bombs used to be, but have now been fixed).

And for another suggestion; it's always annoyed me that all Injury results are treated as a success. Success should really be only for KO and above, Stunned should count as a failure.

As it stands, everyone always gets 100% for their injury rolls.

  12. I've picked it up. It's only $20 for the full PC version, which includes a couple of new NPCs and some new adventures.

It's also got a new interface and has a lot of bug fixes and other improvements over the original. And of course it uses the BG2 engine/ruleset including all the new character classes and kits.

But TBH there's not whole lot of value over using the various modpacks and other improvements that are already available for free. And in some ways it's worse.

That said I've been playing it mostly non-stop since it released on Friday...
